Erin Keating earned her B.A. in creative writing and literature at Roanoke College, in Salem, Virginia.  The Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding campus made a lasting impression and frequently appear as a setting in her work. Her undergraduate focus in Shakespeare studies led her to study at the Globe Theatre and Oxford University.

She earned her M.A. in History and Culture from Drew University, with a focus in literary history. She wrote her thesis on Cymbeline, Shakespeare's fairytale of a play.

She currently works as a grant writer at an arts education nonprofit.

When she is not writing, grants or otherwise, she enjoys rock climbing, language learning, and playing bass guitar.
